Julie Chen Moonves is the host of the 22nd season that premiered on CBS 5 August 2018. Chen Moonves served as the moderator and one of the original hosts on The Talk. She won a Daytime Emmy Award for her work. She was a writer before becoming host, but her passion was to write. Actually, the show brought her an Emmy. In addition, she won the Emmy for hosting as well as an outstanding television talkshow. The Talk examines contemporary events by looking through the eyes of five hostesses. Chen Moonves hosted CBS News The Early Show's early morning news show The Early Show for a decade. Before that, Chen Moonves was the CBS Morning News' anchor, and also the anchor for news for The Early Show. Chen Moonves was assigned to Cairo following the events of 9/11. There, she tracked her down and spoke with the father of hijackers for an eye-opening and interesting interview. Chen Moonves interviewed celebrities such as Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. She also spoke with the former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and Queen Rania. Chen Moonves is also a CBS Sunday Morning reporter who has featured stars such as Jamie Lee Curtis. Before The Early Show she was an editor at WDTN TV Dayton located in Dayton, Dayton, Ohio (1995-1997). Her previous jobs include working as a reporter at ABC NewsOne, the network's affiliated news service (1992-1995) and as a desk-assistant in ABC News' Los Angeles Bureau (1990-1991) and all the while completing her final year of university in the University of Southern California. It was her first broadcasting job as a Desk Assistant on ABC News' late-night show Nightline With Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel remains among her favorite journalists. Chen Moonves worked with Koppel in the Columbia du-Pont-nominated primetime special, Anatomy of a Riot, which examined the 1992 Los Angeles riots.
